CRU in the Press

CRU is a love letter to Providence

CRU is a love letter to Providence, wrapped in great food, standout drinks, and an unmistakable neighborhood feel. The mix of old-school nostalgia and modern edge makes it the kind of place you want to return to, whether for a lazy Sunday brunch or a spontaneous weekday bite. With a menu that balances comforting classics with creative twists, a dining area designed for lingering, and an atmosphere buzzing with local charm, CRU PVD is well on its way to becoming a West End staple.

Delivering retro charm

We're spoiled here, with no shortage of craft cock-tails, inventive dishes, and effortlessly cool spaces, but every so often, an establishment comes along that feels like it's always been part of the fabric of the neighborhood. Enter CRU, the latest addition to West Fountain Street, where Bayberry Beer Hall used to be, delivering retro charm, warm camara-derie, and some seriously good food.

That's a nice touch

[CRU] is the newly opened restaurant in the space that was previously the Bayberry Beer Garden. It's now owned by Morin Catering, and sister restaurant to Cru in Newport. They are offering a three-course dinner for $40. It's $20 for an optional wine pairing. That's a nice touch. You can start with a Caesar Salad or Lamb Tartare. Entrees include Duck Raviolo, Colossal Shrimp or a Charred Winter Squash with Lentils. Dessert offerings include Blood Orange Sorbet or Cream Puff with Chocolate Sauce.
